Shabaka Hutchings is saxofonist, bandleider en componist. Hij maakt deel uit van de jonge jazz en improvisatie ‘scene’ in Londen en speelt in verschillende formaties, zoals Shabaka & The Ancestors, Sons of Kemet en The Comet is Coming.
Tijdens deze 'sonic lecture' onderzoekt Hutchings hoe de Caribische invloeden kunnen worden gedetermineerd en wat er gebeurt als ze in contact komen met typisch Westerse muziek.
